Our 'Role Models' share their career advice with Vogue.com.au!

Cheyenne Tozzi

What it’s really like to work with Naomi Campbell on The Face Australia:
“I went in thinking that she has every right to act any way she wants because she’s a legend. But she was lovely to me. She was doing yoga, drinking tea and chilling out. She treated me like a really great friend.”

Naomi’s advice to her:
“She was very supportive. She said ‘keep your back covered and if you don’t like something, say it’.”

Jessica Gomes

Tips for aspiring models:
1. “It’s important to have a great support network. Surround yourself with good people. Make sure you’re communicating with your agents.”
2. “Take your time. There’s no rush to go overseas or do things.”
3. “Being professional, healthy and well-mannered goes a long way. Work ethic is a big part of it.”

What Megan Gale said when she was appointed a David Jones ambassador:
“Megan was really sweet. She sent me a bunch of flowers and said ‘if you ever have any worries or you want to ask me any questions, here’s my number’.”

Her model icons:
Lara Stone, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Gisele Bündchen and Megan Gale.

Montana Cox

On the reality of the industry:
“It’s hours of castings, staying up to four am at fittings, getting cut out 20 minutes before a show. It’s a lot more brutal than people think it is... the best thing is getting free stuff!”

Tips for being mentally prepared:
“You just need to think ‘it’s out of my hands’. It’s not personal. If you’re not what they wanted, someone else will think you are. Take it seriously, but not too seriously.”

How to make a career out of reality TV:
“You just need to be yourself throughout the whole process. Don’t pretend to be anything you’re not or try to make a big deal out of yourself. Don’t let all the lights and cameras get to you.”
